My Favorite Spiritual & Inspirational Books

One of my goals for 2013 is to search out and read more spiritual and inspirational books.   Here are 4 that aren’t necessarily brand new books, but ones that I’ve recently finished and highly recommend:

7 : An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess:  Jen Hatmaker tells the story of her journey as she focuses and simplifies seven areas of her life, including food, clothing, waste, stress, finances, media, and possessions and the how the experiment impacts and ultimately transforms the life of the author and her family.

Anything by Jennie Allen: Jennie takes a heartfelt journey into the soul to question her purpose in life, and ultimately pledges herself to fulfill God’s wishes for her life.  Excellent book!

Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist.  This is a touching account of Shauna’s ability to find grace and peace in life’s joyous and difficult seasons of life, and a greater lesson for all of us to learn and grow from these moments.

Evolving in Monkey Town by Rachel Held Evans:  How a Girl Who Knew All the Answers Learned to Ask the Questions: Great book for those on a spiritual journey of their own.  There are so many questions that Rachel grappled with that are probably not unlike the questions that many of us have struggled with at some point of our lives.

What are some of your favorite inspirational/spiritual books?
